Thanks for your reply. That didn't actually work (I ended up with a copy of the Config file), but following your instructions and making a short cut from the C:\Program Files (x86)\Muvizu\Binaries - Muvizu (Application) worked.

Sorry you are having trouble launching Muvizu -when Windows 7 installs a programme it doesn't always generate short cuts - I have a Laptop with 7 on it and it happens quite a lot with a variety of programmes.

You can create a short cut by going to C:\Program Files\Muvizu\Binaries, Right-Clicking on Launcher.exe, Left-Clicking on Copy then go back to the Desktop and Right-Click on it and then Left-Click on Paste Shortcut.

If that doesn't work please let me know.

I think you can configure Windows update to do Direct X, but I am not 100% sure - hope you enjoy using Muvizu, and if you have any other problems or suggestions please let us know.

That sorted out the problem straight away, My windows update is always turned on so why it didn't work automatically I don't know.
Not having it work straight away did give me the chance to watch the tuts so now I am of for a play!

Sorry about the delay in replying - I am at home and my internet connection is a little temperamental.

I didn't realise that the downloads had worked and that the crash/hang occured when Muvizu itself was launching.

From what I can see there is no obvious reason for Muvizu not working - you actually have a very similar machine to a few people in the office. From what has been said in other posts updating your DirectX runtime can fix startup problems - in fact there was an update released on Friday at:

It says it's just an update for 9.0c but it will update DX10 and DX11 systems - as the Direct X 8,9,10 and 11 files are all separate.

If that doesn't work please let me know.

My System Info:
Windows 7 64bit
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
4.00 GB
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GS
2559 MB Total available graphics memory

Directx 11
.net framework 2.5, 3, 3.5 and 4
visual studio c++ up from 2005 to 2008

I have done so far....

I have downloaded the package twice now and installed it successfully using administrator rights,
I have tried starting the program normally and "run as administrator" and on each occasion the dialog box comes up with some stuff loading ( it disapears very fast so it is hard to see at what point it closes)

The last entry in the box says " downloading manifest: Done
Then the box closes and I get the windows dialog box saying that "Muvizu has stopped working" Windows is checking for a solution to the problem

Thats it! hope you have an idea

We run it on Windows 7 64 bit every day and have had no extra issues with the software. There are obviously some wrinkles in the programme as it is still a beta version but there are none that are specific to a 64-Bit operating system.

Mark - did you create a thread with the error then delete it? I thought I had seen a thread where you said that the crash occurred when you were downloading the remote manifest? If so this may be fixed by running Muvizu in Administrator mode - it needs to download a cache to your hard drive and it needs to be started by an administrator to do so.

Edit- never mind, it was TCC-Hellgat's thread. Could you try running Muvizu as an administrator anyway please?
