Best settings for DVD/Cinematic quality? CloudNinja wrote:
- 2a what should the over all project setting/template be? "Custom (1920x1080, 25.000 fps)"?
BTW - the video looks a bit pixelated using the Custom (1920x1080, 25.000 fps)" template... whereas when I use the "4K 2160-50p (3840x2160, 50.000 fps)" for the project settings - the video looks fantastic! However, since 4K will potentially cause playback problems on DVD, how do I keep as smooth look as possible but have it at the correct setting for DVD?

If you're exporting from Muvizu in 1080p, then use the 1080p custom template. If you're using 4k/UHD output from Muvizu then use the 4k/UHD 2160p project template. I'm not sure how it would get pixelated, are you judging by an output or by the preview window in vegas?
I still think burning you video to a DVD isn't a great idea, and you might want to, as ritsmer says, format the disc as file storage and just put the mp4 file in there. This means you can connect it to whatever setup you have with a computer and play in the resolution you want.
As a comparison just to re-iterate the massive loss in quality:
DVD: 720 x 480
Full HD: 1920x1080
UHD(4K): 3840 × 2160

If you're still set on burning the disc as a DVD, don't bother exporting your video in more than 1080p since you'll be using up disc space.
I haven't really tried any dvd burning programs apart from windows dvd maker so I can't help on that last bit.

mp4 vs.image sequence? Which is better?
Still image sequence, but if you're planning to export in 360 or just want to upload straight from Muvizu, then mp4.
Which has better color quality? The png image sequence or the mp4 video? Will both be the same color quality when being imported into Sony Vegas?
Image sequences aren't compressed, but the mp4 output is.
Does the mp4 format have the 2G limit issue/bug like the uncompressed avi?
Thankfully not.

Black line at top of screen after rendering? CloudNinja wrote:
How do you output as mp4? What version of Muvizu is that?

The most recent version 2016.02.24.01R
There should be an option where you usually choose avi or targa.

Black line at top of screen after rendering? Sounds like a question for support really. You could try outputting as mp4 to see if that helps.

Img sequence & wav file audio sync in Sony Vegas? You might be having lag while editing your video at 4k since the 750ti was designed for 1080p. The test I usually use is to upload a private test video to youtube which allows you to check the syncronisation at resolutions your graphics card is more friendly with.

You mention the use of FBX models, are you going to pan around this shot?

That's the rub without Mocha imput or output from Muvizu.

I suggested exporting Mocha info from Muvizu cameras so I could make the camera in HF mimic it.

I do move around a bit, sometimes using trackers sometimes just freehand, but you are limited to what is achievable.

However, you'd be amazed at what you can get away with !

You could probably work with the 2D panning I suppose, but I'd like to see if they can export the movements from Muvizu.

I've pretty much stopped using the Muvizu skydome for for outside shots - you get a better effect using backgrounds in HF.

Fantastic picture Berty!
You mention the use of FBX models, are you going to pan around this shot?
I might have a go with the trial.

Cutout Occluders I think it's something to do with how things are layered. So if one layer is on top of another, it will cut the shape of the top layer out of the bottom one. I can't remember if this turns it on or off though.

Camera switching I'll find a video tutorial if you'd prefer: http://muvizu.com/Wiki/wiki/84/

Need help with a bathroom scene.... The easiest way would be to get a picture of some, make the background transparent, then put this on a backdrop. When positioned in the right place, it will look fairly realistic. However, if you want to do a larger range of camera angles, you probably want to make/ask someone to make a 3D model, probably in ase format for low collision.

Custom Texture (UV template) for Asian Characters vistarsharma wrote:
I couldn't find the UV for Asian Characters anywhere. By the look of it, all characters might use almost same UV. Is anything released by Muvizu Team as I couldn't find it?

The Asian character is quite new so they might not have released the UV. You might want to ask support if they have one http://www.muvizu.com/Support

Edit: oops, Not enough morning coffee! (I put the download link rather than the support link)

There's an issue with using cameras for animating textures: the cameras don't show up in the list when you try to choose them, but you still can click where they should appear and you will see them. But if you try and edit it after the fact, it may not let you, since somehow Muvizu doesn't think it has anything loaded apparently.

Also, transparencies in saved FBX objects do not show when loading the object from a saved file or favorites. You see the alpha channel as black or white, not transparent. I have to reload objects with transparencies each time I load a project.

I think you should send this in to support since that'll be faster than them finding this on the forum: http://www.muvizu.com/Support

Just did that, thanks for the suggestion. I thought this feedback thread would be watched closely though, no?

I think so, but I would assume that Jamie checks the zendesk stuff more regularly than anything on the forum.

Unfortunately the wiki stuff doesn't come up on the site search so you have to try it separately.

Black line at top of screen after rendering? CloudNinja wrote:
So if it's a nvidia driver issue - does that mean I'm the only one that is going to see the "flickering black lines" because its affecting my monitor OR did those black lines become "baked" into the rendered video as well?
Not sure if that makes sense...
thanks,
.cn

I would assume it's baked in; but you can always upload it to youtube privately and watch it there. If the lines are there it's baked in, if not then it's just the drivers on your pc. Either way you should probably follow Ziggy's instructions about removing them to make sure it's solved.

ASE plugin If you want to keep using Sketchup 8, you can use the web version of the warehouse and import from there: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/?hl=en

However, for newer versions, there's this guide:

https://www.muvizu.com/Wiki/wiki/170/installing-plugins-to-newer-versions-of-sketchup

Unfortunately you can't use the Ziggymesh exporter for this method.

If you still can't get it working with sketchup 2016, then come back and I'll try it and potentially poke the more experienced moguls.
