You can use the scale image function in Gimp to line up your shot but like Ziggy said it has to be face on.
Hi Marietto - let's start at the beginning, eh?

First off, the UV map (image 3) is the 3D model shape for textures, so any texture you want to work in there HAS to conform to that shape - your eyes have to line up with the eyes, mouth with the mouth, nose with the nose, etc. So, straight away, what you're attempting wont work because your initial picture is taken slightly to one side, not face on, your mouth isnt open, eyes in the wrong place, etc.

Secondly, the UV map is distorted to wrap around the 3D image, so your face image would have to be distorted to match. It isn't.

And thirdly, if all you want is to map your face onto a character and not have him speak, use the Face Mask option instead which will do exactly what you want (in the character options within Muvizu itself).

Mapping textures onto characters is a bit hit and miss, and mapping your face onto a Muvizu character is not easy to pull off successfully. I'd recommend you take another picture of yourself, dead straight, face on, mouth open, and try again with that. As for the white spots, that's probably because you aren't exporting your finished mapped character as a transparent png file.

Hope that helps

I have saved the new character and then I closed muvizu. When I have restarted it,the lips are gone, but now above the nose can be seen the cutting of the mouth. How can I remove it ? And the left eye is crooked. Why ? When I take the screenshot with Snagit white dots appear.

edited by marietto2008 on 15/07/2012
edited by marietto2008 on 15/07/2012

Hello.

I'm a new muvizu lover. I've tried a lot of cartoon tool, but this is the best. Now I'm trying to apply my face layer to a muvizu custom character, according with its template. I would like to ask you :

1) how can I remove the fake lips ? Because as you see from the pics attached, they are out of sync with my real lips and I haven't found a way to sync both. I don't know how to resize my face so that it matches within the templates holes of the eyes/lips template.

2) which are the exact template boundaries within which I can paste my face ?

thanks.

these are the pics of my first experiment with muvizu :
1)

2)

3)

4)

edited by marietto2008 on 15/07/2012
