i had trouble installing muvizu on my windows 8 laptop and tried the solution in the thread ive linked above. i found the directx sdk on the microsoft downloads web site and installed it and muvizu runs ok now. like i say dunno if it will help but its worth a try.

Lets go into the path statement below.

To setup PATH in Windows 8:
Run Control Panel in Windows 8's Metro UI
Click More Settings in Control... on the left.

Search "Environment Variables" in Control Panel, and click "Edit the system environment variables"
Click on "Environment Variables..."
Scroll down and highlight the "edit path" items.

add "C:\Program Files\Muvizu ( if 64 bit )

add "C:\Program Files (x86)\Muvizu ( if 32 bit )

Click OK and finish... reboot.

If that doesn't work and the DLL is in that folder after \Muvizu (add) \muvizu.dll

ie: C:\32 or 64 path above\Muvizu\muvizu.dll

I haven't had time to try yet... other than.... over 65 years old and just having a blast on The Web..

I tried this as well, still nothing happening any differently. Same error message.

Cannot find Muvizu.dll is an extremely generic error - although it is generally caused by some Windows software being out-of-date/incompatible.

If you go to this page on the Wiki and try installing the software listed hopefully it will get Muvizu up and running on your machine:

I am having the same problem opening Muvizu, I have tried installing 2x with same result after having uninstalled the first. An error has occurred: Unable to load DLL'Muvizu.dll': The Specified module cound not be found. I could set up virtualization technology on 8 Pro but if XP is the only mode Muvizu runs well in, it won't work as Hyper‑V replaces Windows Virtual PC that was part of Windows 7, but doesn't include Windows XP Mode.

PS: welcome to Muvizu

Check if you microsoft.net is up to date. I had the same problem than you, and I resolved it by uninstalled Microsoft.net and install it again.

All three ( short cut, run..et al ) were left ticked ... I assume thats what you meant.

Yeah, uninstalling and re-installing usually fixes this, providing you tick all the boxes at the end.
