I am a new user to Muvizu and I am just getting started, I just upgraded and I am looking forward to see what will come of this. This program so far has great potential to me even more than the newer project because it is filled with everything you need to tell a story all muvizu needs now is the ability to actually animate the characters and some new faces and I will be happy with that. I have a few other friends who do animation also and we all use C4D and we all believe this program can go far beyond Iclone and be up alongside Poser and DazStudios.

It is now within my means and makes it available to many more people around the world. From the questions I asked and the answers I got from the staff not long ago, I was wondering if this is an effort to get a lot more funding to justify further development and bug-fixing costs for Muvizu or is it to bring money into their other projects. Up to recently they told me they don't see their working on Muvizu in the near future. To me, it doesn't matter either way they go. The key concept is that Plus+ works pretty well now regardless of some bugs. It costs a lot more to get an Unreal Game Engine to develop your own software on and costs you even more for royalties should you sell your application software using the Unreal engine. By far, no matter what happens to Muvizu, whether they drop development, continue development or just continue with it as they are, US$40 is a bargain price and makes sense investing in it. I have already been using Muvizu to produce non-commercial cartoons, not caring if it shows the Muvizu logo. But now I can create movies for others commercially without a problem along with having my characters hold things and importing objects more easily (supposedly). My recommendation is upgrade now.

My apologies if I misunderstood you. To upgrade to Muvizu Play+, it will cost 50 quid. 50 quid translates to approximately $80 American. Is it someone who uses the software every day, every week, every month? Some users will download the software have a play with it and never return. Others will use Muvizu for a project, have a couple of months using the software everyday and then disappear.

Without getting into commercially sensitive data, I can share that on average a Muvizu user will use Muvizu 15 times in the space of a year.

So why aren't these users more active on the forums? My guess is that it's because 68% of users come from non English speaking countries.

I have corresponded with several of you via email regarding the future developments of Muvizu and would like to take this opportunity to share with all users some more information about the projects Digimania has been working on.

Since December 2013 all the team have been hard at work developing a new 3D animation rendering software. RenderDigimania has been designed for animation studios who produce large volume content, such as kids animated TV series. RenderDigimania uses a "game-engine" production pipeline which dramatically reduces rendering times, and therefore reduces production budgets.

The early access version of RenderDigimania was released in August at the North American Siggraph event. Since Siggraph we have received a large amount support from the professional animation industry and several large animation studios have provided us with valuable feedback. This feedback has mapped out our development timetable.

How is this relevant to Muvizu?

Although we have been around for some time, Digimania is a small start up business with a limited amount of resources. Since December all of our resources have been focussed towards the development and marketing of RenderDigimania. For Muvizu we set in place new streamlined systems designed to maintain the levels of new registrations, which allowed us to shift these resources over to RenderDm.

For those Muvizu users that are forum/gallery users, this has perhaps given the sense that Muvizu was an abandoned product. In reality the Muvizu user base has continued to expand organically and we are approaching a key milestone of hitting a user base of 100,000.

For the past year we have been collecting key demographic data via our registration process to provide us with the information needed to determine how best to allocate future resources into Muvizu. This data has been studied and we are internally mapping out plans for the future of Muvizu.

I will keep you updated and expect to be in a position to provide you with more information on a monthly basis.

Thank you for your continued support.

Paul
edited by PCollimonster on 10/10/2014
