Posts: 39 		oops, my Expo co-producer just pointed out to me via email that I left off a Muvizu film we are screening, Ronald McNamara's "Five Tips for Dumping Your Relationship". So that make 3 Muvizu films we are screening out of 14.

By the way, we accepted about 30% of all entries submitted this year.

...sorry, what was that? Someone mention my real name...?...bloody hell! Nice one - thankyou Mr Grove In case any of you out there ain't seen it, it's not on the Muvizu website as it lives in the video section of www.soyouvebeendumped.com as are a few other of my efforts.

Ps would you like us to do the credit on the screening reel as ziggy72? We are putting together the titles for each film now and want to get it right.

Posts: 1988 		No problem, I'm just so used to being Ziggy72 here it looks odd to see my real name on the forum. It's my online tag generally (Ziggy72), but it's cool to use my real name on the credits. And Thea's too, since she wrote/performed it.

Only where do we see the official announcement on the shortlist including the Muvizu ones?

I saw the 11 that MachineExpo tweeted yesterday (http://t.co/pFBDe2Rk) but no Muvizu films to be seen so color me confused (as usual, it doesn't take much).

Can anyone shed any light only I might like to tweet/like/post/etc the link.

Posts: 39 		Well, it's logistics. Notifying 185 people in a week, then setting up blog for announcing 61 films in an interesting way with links, etc. takes time, too.

We announce the jury films first, then starting Saturday we announce the first 25 films on the screening reel and then Tuesday, the next 25 films.

2 kinds of films at the Expo; top films nominated for jury award (we sent 11 films to an outside jury to vote on Grand Prize and 3 Jury prizes). Unfortunately, no Muvizu film qualified for a jury nomination.
Second group of films are the ones we screen at the Expo because we think they have something extra that we want to share with the machinima community at large. The Muvizu films are in this group of films.

I'll be publishing when the films will screen and what the timings are for each reel so that if you want to see your film with friends, you'll know what time they are going to run.

We start screening films the Monday before the Expo (Nov 14th, run through the weekend and into the week after) Finish screening all films on November 27th. So you have plenty of time to see all of the films.

Full schedule and program for the Expo is made available a week before. (November 12th roughly)

Posts: 27 		The films which were announced are the jury nominated films, those are the films which were picked out to go forward and be selected for the grand prize.

The announcement for the screening reel is to follow.
The screening reel films are a hand picked selection from the best of the rest of the films which were submitted, and will be screened througout the festival.

Think you got the full range of Muvizu camera effects in there - and bubbles! Bubbles, where did you get bubbles?

Good tip there for any would be directors. Got a bad script? Film it in black and white, have the actors mumble the dialogue and look wistfully into the distance. Throw in plenty of close ups on the eyes, lips and hands, and for extra measure, chuck in some focus pull for no apparent reason - hey presto, you're arthouse!

Thanks Emily. You are right ,they are most of the camera effects. Pure Muvizu, except for the bubbles, which are from the video editor (Corel).

The "message" of the video is really "Hope floats = Keep on trying new things, and don't give up" There are many tools in Muvizu which I have even tried out yet!!
