Here's a video explaining some of the things involved with placing a character inside an vehicle.
The part you are looking for begins at about 7 mins on the timeline.

Hope it helps!

the videos were outdated as the ui has changed I suspect he set them on private because they need to be replaced with up-to-date versions.

Strange how he didn't put a new one on before removing the old one...

Dreeko? Are you there?

You are correct Urbanlamb.
Too many of my tutorial videos featured out of date UI and the methods used in most could either be created using more efficient methods due changes in the program or by improved techniques, so I have indeed made all tutorial videos private to avoid confusion.

Sorry if this is a hindrance to some but I think it is for he best.

Cheers

PS: There will be more videos coming from myself after the next Muvizu update but they will not be tutorials I'm afraid.

I actually made a Wiki entry and a tutorial video on making it appear that superhero characters are flying, and the same principals can be applied to make it look as if they are in a moving car as well:

Simply import a car object and place your character inside it with an Initial State of "Sit" (you can toggle the Initial State between Standing and Sitting via Prepare > Character Actions) and then the idea of using a scrolling background texture imported onto a backdrop to give the illusion of "driving" is much the same as when using this method to give the illusion of "flying"!

Hope that helps.

Dreeko, I still think you should make them public, at least until someone's made an updated version.

And how long would I have to wait for that to happen?
Hardly anyone produces normal Muvizu vids on a regular basis these days let alone tutorials.

The more time that passes with these videos being available, the more confusion arises at the differences UI wise etc and therefore the more annoyed I become answering questions about them.

So I'm afraid private they will stay.

i dunno about anyone else but part of the fun i have with muvizu is actually working these things out for myself. working out the little tricks and finding different ways to do things. i think you are forever learning how to use muvizu to its fullest. but each to their own.

me too i enjoy finding my own way. In this instant world we live in far to many people are conditioned to being handed everything lock stock and barrel. I am just an old bag who has some artistic skill who has taken the time over the years to slowly learn things as I have time. My formal training is geekery revolving around scientific research and whatnot. I am also "old" which means technically it should be harder for me to pick things up and keep it in my brain. However the entire 3d world has fascinated me for gosh a decade or more now and no one pointed me in any direction on how to learn things. The information is there if people take time to look. I dont think dreeko should have to redo all those tutorials not to mention there is a tutorial on how to sit just done blog form plus i have answered the question on how to sit in a car about 2 dozen times on these forums.

The answer to this question is here in written form already for anyone with a will to look and use a search function.

That's fine

make some fun animations me too I am moving towards another superman not so blockbuster of cheese.

As someone who has made a mountain of tutorials I can say they are borring as all getout to make and I have lost my flair recently for making really good ones because my eyes glaze over while redoing the same steps over and over until its smooth and fast enough on video to be easily understood. Its someone elses turn

I never used any tutorials, but I probably should have, as it's not exactly a gradual learning curve.

the only tutorials ive watched all the way through are the importing from sketchup and adding collision ones. i skimmed through a few of the others to find out the basics and then just played about with the program to learn it properly. its really not that hard to work things out in muvizu and like urbanlamb said most problems can be solved with a little bit of searching in this forum.
