I want to have my character speak on a cell phone from a sitting position. I have imported the phone from Sketch-Up and placed it by his ear. I cannot find an action that will place his hand by his ear from a sitting position.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Eliezer

There is a "Mobile Phone" animation under the "Themes > Miscellanous" character actions menu which will make the character simulate taking a phone out of their pocket, holding the phone to their ear and then putting the phone back in their pocket. Would this maybe do the trick? The "being on the phone" section can be extended to seem longer with the right camera cuts if necessary.

Thanks for the quick answer.
When I tried that, the character stood up. Is there anyway to make him sit?

Ahh yes, totally overlooked the "from a sitting position" part of your initial post. My bad! There's no way to get the character to stay sitting during the "Mobile Phone" animation, but I'll dig around and see if I can find something that may be close enough. Off the top of my head, maybe you could use the Happy > Subtle > "Look At Nails" character action, with the right camera angle...?

Thank you! The Christmas Market has opened here in Glasgow, ergo it is no longer "too early" to start getting in the festive spirit!

ekessler, I'd advise saving yourself a lot of hassle and change your character a little - make them have a bluetooth headset instead, thereby getting round the fact that Muvizu characters can't hold the phone pose. There is no animation in Muvizu that will let you do what you want, standing or sitting - been there, discovered that

And now the second problem - there is no ear object for bluetooth headsets/earpiece. You have to get clever with one of the other facial attachments and reposition it so it looks like an earpiece. Someone did that before, ages ago, and I can't remember how they did it - I think it was a rotated part of one of the sets of glasses. Hope that helps.

...and as if by magic, up pops a mention to the very video I was talking about.

Hope this helps

This is a bit of "Muvizu trickery". I must say it's a damn clever solution! Toast

The headset in the Zubox video is a feature available only to them, at the moment, and not to us lowly punters. You'll have to improvise. I used a pair of glasses for this one :

I rotated them around until just the leg was visible, poking out from her hair to suggest a mic. How the bluetooth earpiece in the other one was achieved...

...I'm not sure, but I think they used the monacle rotated around to the side of the head, along with something else to make the body of the earpiece. You'll have to play around with the scale and position of the facial attachments to get something that look reasonable. Good luck!

hrm wonder if muvizu made the set or if they have been doing some work on making it possible to add wearable item objects and they made it themselves?
