I have the latest Muvizu Play+. I create characters and give them movement. When I move the timeline manually they move. When I run the scene or make a movie they do not move. Not every character and not all the time.

If I recreate the characters with their motion, more often than not they are OK.

Windows 7 64 bit.

Yeah, this is a common problem, and the only fix is to start again from scratch.
Were you using a set made in a previous version of Muvizu?

Thanks MrDrWho13.

As long as I know it is a known problem, and not my installation, I will work around it. Just a note. My scene is created new. However the characters are favorites.

Thanks again

Hi guys,

The character not moving is getting bad. I create new scenes and half the characters don't move.
It seems like I am fiddling more trying to get the characters to move than directing a video.

The scenes have many objects and many characters.

Is it possible I am using too many 'things'?

Any hope in sight?

William

P.S. All new scenes with the latest Muvizu Play+. Windows 7 64 bit.

I don't know if this helps, wdeprospo, but I've never really used favorites for characters and I've never encountered this bug (as far as I know). You could maybe strip the characters of their 'favorite' status, see if that helps.
So how would you un-favorite them? Eh...backup your existing sets, then try this :

Create all your favorite listed characters in a blank set, save the set (I'd call it Cast List or something)

Close the set, exit Muvizu.

Open Muvizu again, check that the Cast List loads without any issues. If it does, delete any characters in the Favorites list (so you won't accidentally use them again).

Copy and paste the characters you require into your set. Whenever you are creating new characters, do so in your Cast List set, then copy and paste them into your working set.

This is the system I have been using since, ooh, day 1, to avoid problems caused by the updates making things break. If using this system changes anything, please let us know so we can eliminate it from your enquires

Hi

I like the idea of isolating characters.
I will add this to my good habits. :-)

I find that even new characters behave the same.
Sometimes they move, sometimes they don't.

Perplexed.

William

P.S. I didn't know you could cut and paste characters. Good o
info.

merci

Hi I am getting exactly the same issue. I direct my characters and then when I hit play they wont move. Is there a fix for this bug yet?

Hi

I also hope they have a fix soon. I spend a lot of
time redoing scenes trying to minimize character movement.

Yep it is a big issue especially when you have a complex set or several actors. For example I am currently trying to adjust the end point of one character's walk. So I move his start point slightly to see where he will end up, but I can't then just press "play". I have to save the movie, close Muvizu, re-open and reload the movie which can take several minutes. Only to find I need to move him a fraction more and repeat the process, it is very frustrating.

Please Muvizu staff, concentrate efforts on fixing this bug!

Any progress on this issue? I just downloaded Muvizu on my laptop and home computer, both machines have this issue.
I was going to jump in and buy this program right away, I'm glad I tried it free first.

I've had every problem that Muvizu's ever had, but this one I'm finding hard to replicate. It's nothing to do with the favourites, as far as I can tell, but I've only managed to make it do what you all are describing once in the last week or so. My first thought to get past it was to delete the character's movement (dragged line), and animate a different movement (click to click), and then it was fine - couldn't get the characters to stop moving (as per the bug) after that, even after going back and reanimating the dragged line movement type. I've got to assume you all tried that too, so is this the same bug?

Yeah I'd agree, I haven't used favourites so far and I often experience the issue.

Perhaps something to do with moving movement on the timeline?

That is more likely I think.

Tried all day to get this thing to work, tried saving, closing, opening, new sets, new characters, nothing works. I can direct character movement but cannot add anything else like head or eye movements because the character will not move on any other directing pass. Sometimes the character starts to move but stops about a quarter of the way through.
I may try re-installing the program or Saturday.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit, I've seen on other threads that some problems were fixed by installing 32bit instead of 64, any idea what I would be missing if I did the same?

the 64bit is the same as 32bit content wise. im not sure what the difference is but ive used both on a 64bit pc and seen no difference between the two.

I have the same issue- running windows 8- 64 bit - it is hit and miss. Seems that if there is more than 1 character in a scene that has to move, I have to keep re-doing the movement to get the character to move, and this happens nearly every time. Also noticed for the first time yesterday- I was unable to move a character during recording- the directional movement arrows were there but the character would not move but eventually did after redoing it a couple of times.
