Posts: 40 		I've just finished my competition entry, but I just want to ask a question about submission...

The directions say to "post your film on YouTube via the upload facility in the Muvizu 3D application or via your profile on the Muvizu website. When uploading, set the privacy option to 'Private (only specific YouTube users can view)'."

Because I've edited my video using external software, I have to use the site to upload. However, there doesn't appear to be any form of 'private' option at all, and I don't want to upload it and find that I've been disqualified for releasing it publicly. Big Grin (I don't know really if that would be the case, but I don't want to risk it!)

Also, how are you going to view the videos if they're set to private? I thought that maybe the reason why we have to do it through the site meant that the Muvizu software, or upload facility here, uses a different kind of private option that allows... I dunno actually, lol.

Please let me know what to do. Thanks. Feedback Requested

P.S. I think you'll like what I've made.

Not sure if this is right but the way I got round it is as soon as it started loading onto Youtube (where it was "Public" I edited the properties to make it "Private" and this worked ok.
What you will find is that when you have uploaded your video and sent the appropriate email you will get an email back (not neccessarily immediately) telling you to change the video properties to make it viewable by the relevant selected user using "Private Sharing".

But if you post edit, save it, upload to you tube, then say you win, or a runner up, they will have a set file without the
Nice titles, effects, fades and so on. The reason I have brought it up again is because i have an entry which will look
Crap if I can't do transitions, dissolves ect.
If I can't post edit, I will try and do it in muvizu only to get the HD set file.
I hope we clear this up before the deadline. Cheers mate

Yes I am still unsure how it will be judged.

It was made very clear on Aug 10 that post processing was allowed albeit with it stressed that they were looking for best use of Muvizu

You may use image programs, post-processing programs, audio programs and the like to make your 90-second clips. One of the nice things about Muvizu is that it lets us bring together pictures, dialogue, music and even videos to incorporate in our Muvizu creations.

Use whatever tools you like, but bear in mind that we're interested in competition entries that show the best use of Muvizu as a filmmaking and animation package, so the more your clip showcases what our software can do, the better your chances of winning some state-of-the-art computing kit, as provided by Workstation Specialists.

However as you say if you win you may need to provide the relevant set files which would result in an "unfinished movie". Perhaps if your movie is at the highest resolution this will not be necessary?

Also the movies are to be judged by non-Muvizu people so I am not sure how they will know what parts of the movie have been post processed using other software?

Perhaps one of the team could clarify (although it's probably too late now!)

*Sighs* Just get it on to YouTube, don't worry if you can't get a grown-up to help, and when it's there, edit its privacy settings to private. Then edit them further to share with user MuvizuYT. Send the url of the video to raindance@muvizu.com

If you mess up the privacy settings I'm pretty sure that we'll be able to sort it out.

As far as the .set file goes, don't worry - it's not a great deal of use to us because the post-processing will have rendered it redundant anyway. Furthermore, it won't affect your chances in the competition. We just asked for that because it would have made any possible high-def usage easy to do, but there are plenty of other ways that we can sort it out, should we need to.

Best of luck and take a stress pill or something :-)
