20 Second Film Competition (Summer theme) 3 Entries in less than a week! This is looking good!
If enough people enter the competition then a 3rd winner may be possible, so make sure to tell your friends!

20 Second Film Competition (Summer theme) We have our first entry! That looks good eugenecheese, simple but effective. Let's see how it compares to the coming clips.
You may submit as many entries as you like, but this will not increase your chances in the randomly selected prize.

Rocque, I look forward to seeing your idea take shape.

Man! Apparently lots of other people have had bad vacations! It made for interesting reading, but I still don't have an original idea that can be squished into 20 seconds. But the deadline's about a month away, so ....

Same here, never had a disastastrous vacation. I could make something up, but I think 20 sec. is quite short. Why is the limit 20 seconds?

I was trying to have a bit of contrast to the 2-3 minute competition.
Have a look at 5 second films on YouTube for inspiration of how to format a short film if it helps.

So, is winning the competition the only way we could use these sets? I hope not, because those are great sets!

I'm planning to sell the beach set once the transparent avi issue is fixed. There's something that I want to add that takes advantage of this. Winners will receive any newer versions of the beach set.

20 Second Film Competition (Summer theme) Update:
Ziggy72 has kindly donated his house set to this competition, so each winner will receive this alongside the beach set.

Get cracking, everyone! Anyone can win!

20 Second Film Competition (Summer theme) It's good to see users interested in participating.
Yes, you can do it if it's in Muvizu. (That method does sound difficult though)

Competition? The next competition has started, you have until August 14th to enter:

20 Second Film Competition (Summer theme) Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it’s time for the next competition!

Have you ever been on holiday and had something awful happen to you? An alien invasion or zombie apocalypse, perhaps? Maybe it was just your ice cream scoop falling out of your cone?

Well now’s your time to show us what happened (And hopefully make us laugh). You have 20 seconds to fill, so you better make these stories snappy!

Here are the official rules:
  • The video should be about your worst (or at least a bad) holiday experience. (It doesn’t have to be true!)
  • The video must be 20 seconds or less. (Not including titles)
  • The video must be made in Muvizu, but editing and compositing in external programs is allowed.
  • The video must not contain any copyrighted material. (We don’t want your videos to be taken down over something like this)
  • Participants may post more than one entry, but this will not help your chances for the randomly selected prize.
  • You must post your submission in this thread before midnight on Sunday 14th of August (It’s probably best to upload though the Muvizu site, then get the link from YouTube to post here).

Two winners will be selected:
1. The best video decided by a panel of judges.
2. A randomly selected video just to liven things up a bit.

Each winner will receive the beach set shown in the video, as well as this house set kindly donated by Muvizu Mogul Ziggy72:

Good luck everyone!

Please note that these sets are only compatible with Muvizu:Play+. If you have not yet purchased Muvizu:Play+, then I recommend that you do since it is a massive improvement on the standard Muvizu:Play.

cool! I'm looking forward to seeing the contest parameters and prize. I think a million dollars would be a great prize.

A million dollars! That sounds like a reasonable prize. I'll just ask Trump for a small loan.

Competition? Pick me! Pick me!
I'm almost ready to start. I'm planning to make a video to give a brief outline of the rules and an example, but might end up just writing up the rules and doing the video later.

leave of absence Nice to see you InsaneHamster!
It's good to hear things are going well, even if the weather isn't so great for you right now. Quite an interesting plan by the sounds of things.
Good luck for when the weather clears up!
Everything seems to be going well here. Muvizu's developing slowly but surely as time goes on, and the community is very much active.
We look forward to having you back once you're done.

Not that Tie again Yes, but I don't know if it can be fixed (it's a problem with all fluid clothing). Worth sending in a support ticket anyway.

A Quadruped (Of Sorts!) mindiflyth, Dreeko make a couple of FBX models to completely change the face, but this is pretty much the limit of facial customisation that can be animated.

Rendering thread exeption: Fatal error! Out of mem I'm using the old radeon hd7770 2gb (a touch less power than the 750ti), and that provides quite a bit of power, but I can't work on very crowded scenes, or scenes with 100% shadow sharpness.
While we're talking about PC upgrades: if you don't already have one, consider using an ssd. It cuts your boot time to a few seconds, and program will open almost instantly. (That's just a general thing though, and requires more effort than just changing a graphics card)

Rendering thread exeption: Fatal error! Out of mem Urbanlamb's right, you will likely never need anything more powerful than an RX480, although I think there is a benefit to using something on par with, or more powerful than, the GTX 750ti.
Here's the official specs anyway: http://muvizu.com/Wiki/wiki/52/recommended-computer-specifications

For reference: I know a couple of Moguls use the GTX 970 which is roughly as powerful as the RX480 (To my knowledge). (Is it ukBerty or Ziggy72 that uses it? I can't remember any more :/ )

A Quadruped (Of Sorts!) That's excellent, eugenecheese! I think this is a good option for people wanting any sort of large farmyard animals.

Rendering thread exeption: Fatal error! Out of mem I think you should wait for a response from support before buying anything so you know your problem is not just a bug or something.
For an upgrade, you'll probably want to look into these cards (In order of price, cheapest first) depending on your budget:
GTX 750ti
RX 480
GTX 1060
GTX 1070 -You don't really need this much power, but if you plan to expand into video editing and such, this will speed things up.
GTX 1080

It's not my computer, since I have a powerful machine that runs high quality audio all the time. Is this just one of Muvizu's many deficiencies? You can't create a video of more six or seven seconds in length, and have to cut that often?

So, tell us the specs of this other machine you trying to use. That would be a good start.

Did you try loading the set file onto your own "powerful machine" to see if it works there?
edited by bigwally on 18/07/2016

I think you may have mis-read the sentence there, bigwally. "It's not my computer" rather than "It's not my computer"

You do bring up a good point though, we don't know if doug's video card is powerful enough.

You may need to check what card you have, doug, because if you have something less powerful than a GTX 750 you may start running into trouble.

Support may have got in touch by now though.

Rendering thread exeption: Fatal error! Out of mem Muvizu is not out of business, but updates aren't as regular because it's only a small team working on it. If you send a support ticket then you'll get a response within the week if not within the day. http://www.muvizu.com/Support
It's been a while since anyone has had this kind of crash so I'd be interested to hear the cause.
