Character actions or you may try a camera shot of character holding hammer, cut to camera shot of object character is wanting to hit. then back to character the fade to black with a whacking noise then shot of character with hammer head on top of object. to give apperance of character hitting the object. Just a thought.

My thinkings I would agree also! Little things like that can add hugely to a scene, some times a lifted eyebrow is all you need to convey a statement, or a thought. or add the comical element that otherwise just can't be done.

My thinkings all valid points I was just trying to point out that unlike some softwares which the user can create all content and make an animation all though it does take a long time to do, Muvizu is dependant on the devs for the major aspect of its creation process. Character and character actions, character assets etc. these are deeply dependant on developers. So until new ones are released we are limited to trying to make work arounds to make the film flow. As great a piece of software Muvizu is and the ease of use and quickness to making videos I think in the end this is the one thing that may be the thorn in Muvizu's side.

whew and I thougt I was going to get roasted alive lol. Let me say thanks for that!

My thinkings Thanks for the reply Mike,
I apprecitate it. I understand honestly I truly do. I was just trying to point out that Muvizu is a Developer dependant software. And we as users of the software are limited to a degree on what we can do; do to that fact. The trade off I know is the fact you can whip out an animation in minutes. But I truly believe in Muvizu! Yes everyone has ideas on what they like to see in Muvizu for them. Even me! Is it all feasable not really some wont be acheivable or its not really that high on the list. others are and maybe it was something even HQ didnt think about at first. Thats what beta testing and great communication is for and in the end poof great product.

Ba its the holidays and im rambling. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

My thinkings Well first off let me start by saying thanks for the update! Its nice to see developers that listen and communicate with there community of users. I do a lot of beta testing for games and I wish the developers of those games would come here and get a lesson in communication and working with a community. Kudos to HQ!!
Secondly this isnt a hate post or anything so I hope no one takes it as such.
I did find it odd that after some assets of trains was added to the gallery you add a Train content pack. Maybe odd timing I don't know just odd. Dont get me wrong I love content packs as I suck at modeling so I have to resort to asking for help and waiting for content packs to get released. BUT! Content packs (and this is my thinking only) IE models can be brought in by users these shouldnt be high on HQ priority.
I know bug fixes are naturally but before content like trains that are already in the gallery is added to a content pack we as users can download one from the gallery but what we can't create are actions for characters or characters no matter what we do as users we will always be dependent on HQ to keep us updated on characters and character actions to make movies look better and have better flow. The more actions a character can do the better a film looks. along with character assecories.

Since you should already have IK skeletons made up or whatever you use for these characters creating new actions shouldn't be to hard. maybe a little time consuming but so is modeling.

Maybe we do away with the video joiner and add a action creator where a person can create actions for characters. Just a thought. and save them to a folder.

Like i said earlier Im not hate posting but facts are facts models can be imported characters and character actions can't so HQ would seem to have to keep this at the top of there list to stay competive. otherwise all the prison and train assets in the world wont do you any good. Now Im not saying every single update has to have characters and actions.

I love this software I really do. This is one of those things that I would drop money on in a heartbeat. With that said Im just voicing my opinons in hopes that maybe my ramblings will help better Muvizu. There isnt that many places on the internet where one can go and find a place that has a great comunity and comunication as this one. so with that said remember im just discussing my views.( post in forums can be taken in the wrong context that is why I repeat myself)

Im done rambling blah

Falling objects If you right click on an object. You bring up a properties box. You can click on float in air box to have it float in the air. to animate it click on the object and then at the top of Muvizu click on prepare and go to prepare object movement or something along that lines. (trying to remember off top of my head ) Click on direct and you can move it to go up and down by pressing Q for up and E i believe for down. Hope that helps.

comment/feedback re: expo infos Yes I am interested in some of the hints that was dropped during the expo myself. Especially when talked about licensing. Maybe they (HQ) will elaborate more for us or give us some ideas that they are mulling over.

The Mirror Thanks everyone

The Mirror lol yea I have a few in the wings waiting. Organization is key no doubt lol. Not to mention trying not to rush it when I knew it was almost done so it kept the same feel throughout. I am just working on some work arounds for the other longer videos I want to make sure they look good and work before making the films.
2012/11/11 5:06:36
The Mirror Thanks Urban.. I am glad it's over to be honest lol. But my goal is to make longer and longer movies.

OMG

NO!!! It can't be true. Is it really going to be that good a Christmas or am I just imagining things? I am good at reading between the lines and perhaps the cat has just been released from its incarceration. On the other hand it may still be in the box and we have no idea whether it is dead or alive.
You are 100% correct... When you say "it can't be true". Stick Out Tongue Apologies if you misread my earlier post - I just appreciated your joke is all - I didn't mean it to be connected to what I'd said earlier. My bad!
Needless to say, the day we are confident we have a solid mechanic in place to allow characters to hold objects, it won't be announced via a winking smiley on the forum - it will be announced via a size 8000 font message on the front page with accompanying pictures of Muvizu characters on the phone to their mothers, fathers and everyone they have ever met to let them know that they can now actually use phones.

So, with regards to characters holding objects in the next release - the cat is dead, my friend.
Soz, Woz!

Gasp! I'll be checking the home page every day now!Duhh

People, we've got to stop hitting the 'Reply With Quote' button all the time or we'll run out of internet

My thinkings Now I know why I don't use the super hero pack. It seems to me it was rushed. Compared to old muvizu characters they are not even close in comparrison.
So some suggestions
Fix the sitting pose.( they look like barbie dolls sitting down with there legs all straight out)
give more character actions like the old Muvizu characters. (I would love to use them in other type of films but the limited actions just dont cut it. I ended up deleting them and going for the old characters)
a little more custimaziton as in hair, facial hair etc would be nice.
these characters would be great for other types of films. Even as super heroes i couldnt belive there wasnt a romance actions.

Regular suggestions for Muvizu in general.

actions.

tripping action would be nice
Small jump or hop
nuetral laying posistion like you would on a hospital bed or on your stomach.
washing dishes actions
tip toe sneaking action
holding a flashlight action would be sweet.

animation.

would love to see when you lock objects together be able to move them as one then animate them as one also. as a group object.

custamization
maybe some alien stuff like antennas and things

Packs
Huge building packs with lots of buildings would be sweet.
military pack

Clothing
would love to see the clothing for the super hero pack for the regular muvizu characters. the flowing gowns and the detail.

I think thats enough brain cell death for one day. just some stuff that comes to mind while I work on some movies.
