I tried this as well, still nothing happening any differently. Same error message.

Coming from the old school of DOS ( WE saw the IBM/MS DOS Wars ) I have one more thing to try ( and suggest ) before I throw my hands up.. I can fire muvizu via a batch file with an environment variable preceding the *.exe call that puts muvizu.dll in the environment path... or just add c:\windows\SysWOW64\Muvizu.dll ( if it's in there and 64bit ) to the environment variables. Else 32bit c:\windows\system32\muvizu.dll or point to the muvizu install dir. 32 or 64 bit ( if it resides there )

I won't get into batch files and commands... they used to be my toys before windows ( I have Windows 1st version on 5." floppy's )
Lets go into the path statement below.

To setup PATH in Windows 8:
Run Control Panel in Windows 8's Metro UI
Click More Settings in Control... on the left.
====
Search "Environment Variables" in Control Panel, and click "Edit the system environment variables"
Click on "Environment Variables..."
Scroll down and highlight the "edit path" items.

add "C:\Program Files\Muvizu ( if 64 bit )

add "C:\Program Files (x86)\Muvizu ( if 32 bit )

Click OK and finish... reboot.

If that doesn't work and the DLL is in that folder after \Muvizu (add) \muvizu.dll

ie: C:\32 or 64 path above\Muvizu\muvizu.dll

I haven't had time to try yet... other than.... over 65 years old and just having a blast on The Web..
Later

ps: Confused: Google "Environment Variables" in your version of Windows ( or other )

Can't find muvizu.dll I read a thread where some one suggested one move a copy of the Muvizu.dll ( dynamic linked lib ) to the system directory(s)

\win\system
\win\system32
\win\sysWOW64

Can't hurt... later today will reinstall the 64b version and test this theory.

Cannot find Muvizu.dll is an extremely generic error - although it is generally caused by some Windows software being out-of-date/incompatible.

If you go to this page on the Wiki and try installing the software listed hopefully it will get Muvizu up and running on your machine:

http://muvizu.com/Wiki/wiki/53/drivers-and-other-system-software

Went there ... checked it out.. compared to what is installed... we are up to date.

Computer: AMD A-10 5700 10 gigs RAM, HD Radeon 7660D. /* Win 8 Pro */ HD 1080p ASUS 24in Monitor

Some one else suggested above we uninstall Net Framework and Reinstall.. been there done that. No go.

Thank you for the feedback glasgowjim.

and more decent chatter on the issue.. so who ever is having this problem know, you are not alone and it is not isolated to Muvizu

I am having the same problem opening Muvizu, I have tried installing 2x with same result after having uninstalled the first. I gave up trying to install on win 8 pro. When I was on 7 it worked fine. When you install on 7, right click over the *.exe file and choose install as admin. That is how we got it up and hot on 7.

MS Says: HRESULT error could be a VC error

Check if you microsoft.net is up to date. I had the same problem than you, and I resolved it by uninstalled Microsoft.net and install it again.

I wish it helped you

Thank you Dwarf. What version of windows do you use?

I could set up virtualization technology on 8 Pro but if XP is the only mode Muvizu runs well in, it won't work as Hyper‑V replaces Windows Virtual PC that was part of Windows 7, but doesn't include Windows XP Mode.

Here is an MS primer in case you are unfamiliar with the above feature.

Can't find muvizu.dll Win 8 pro says... NOPE, 32bit can not be run on this computer. Tried installing as Admin. Nope Tried in compat mode, Nope.

Thanks for all the work you do on muvizu... we appreciate.. even if we can't use it now.

A quickie I did for a friends book... ( I was going to try and do an animated muvizu with a mac-v-sog theme not only for the book, but for all the operators who made the trip. )

All three ( short cut, run..et al ) were left ticked ... I assume thats what you meant.

No, I meant the directx framework and that stuff.

Initially I did leave them ticked.. on reinstall, un-ticked. My computer was already up to date with 4 framework, DirectX and VietCong Runtime..
despite, the initial try I left ticked and went through the install... on try two un-ticked as I thought it may have been the problem.

Enjoy..

Yeah, uninstalling and re-installing usually fixes this, providing you tick all the boxes at the end.

Didn't fix.. same error message... let me drop down to the 32 bit version.. ( though prefer to play in the 64 bit box ) and see if the same/same happens. I left these ticked first try then I un-ticked the 3 add on items to see if that may have been a problem. Didn't make a difference. same/same message. All three ( short cut, run..et al ) were left ticked ... I assume thats what you meant.

Can't find muvizu.dll Just installed your latest 64bit version ...
AMD A-10 10 gigs RAM, HD Radeon Video / HD Audio

When Muvizu goes to fire up error: can't find Muvizu.dll

I checked the install folder \program files\Muvizu Play\Binaries64 and there within it sits.

I also found it in \program files\Muvizu Play\Engine\Binaries64

Just a heads up...

Please add a save every 5 minutes or so... After spending some free time ( finally had some today ) creating a HPD officer, HPD Cruser, editing music for a small show ( theme from Cops ) setting up a Houston landscape, preparing, then directing... when it
came time to encode to movie, CRASHED. No warning, no error message.. only win 7's blob on the program has stopped working. I immediately went to see if any thing was saved.. nada. I even checked the temp file area ... zip. Not complaining... my bad for not seeing auto-save was not an option and saving as changes were made to the scenes. Other than .. it's been fun learning and playing with your toy.

Finally... I exported scenes from 3D Max Design 2013 to *.ase for import. 1st attempt - too large. Second attempt - stated I forgot items.. not so, -- all it stated wasn't there was checked for export. (g)
I can attach the last export if it will help you. I went to a stock biped with minimal dress and exported
with all items checked - same/same. ( oh.. I see I can not attach (g) )

I believe I am using your 64 bit version.
My basic setup:
Win 7 Pro 64bit;
HP Pavilion p7-1240 AMD Quad-Core A10-5700 Accelerated
Processor (3.40GHz, 4MB L2 Cache)
10GB DDR3 system memory
AMD Radeon HD 7660D Graphics ( up to 4+ gigs )

Back in the game... Yet another STUPID question propounded by me. Mind is getting worse... it's running out of gas.

Yes -- to answer my own question... Kewl... a game engine running an application. Thats a nice editor within UDK. The perforce server is also neat... reading the docs as I can.

Motion artist you'd have to go to commercial grade to find a free program thats better than Muvizu - despite the flaws one may discover. Though Versions of DAZ3d are free and several other neat programs they have their drawbacks.

Back in the game... Just started looking at your product again... Are you using the Unreal SDK powered by Unreal Engine?

Other than, figured out the cameras and how they work - that was a relief.

Off to take some Geritol... no, we are not dead yet.

Over 64 and having fun on the web....
