Posts: 92 		I'm rendering my Muvizu scene in TGA output, importing those TGA files into Vegas Movie Studio Platinum to be rendering from Vegas as a video.
My final video is much darker than when I previously did avi/video output from Muvizu?!
Any guidance on:
1 - the Vegas import settings of the TGA files?
2 - the Vegas "Make Movie" settings if I want HD or DVD quality video?

1. Make sure you've chosen 25fps when you import the sequence, but the other settings should be fine on default.
I'm not sure why they come out dark, I don't remember having this problem before. You could try PNG output from Muvizu rather than TGA.

2. You'll want the same resolution as you exported from Muvizu and choose either 25fps or 50fps (So probably HD either 720p or 1080p).

BTW - Muvizu doesn't have a png option, only TGA (I haven't upgraded since Oct 2015)

Posts: 1988 		...and ironically, Vegas always seems to look too light in the preview window (inside Vegas) compared to my originals... I've seen this reported as an issue with vegas a few times, no idea why it does it. At least if it's consistent (for you), you could make a brightness/contrast preset and apply that to each clip as you import it to 'normalise' it.

Posts: 1988 		Just had a thought - another issue with importing from a CGI program is corrected by using the Levels fx on a clip, and selecting 'Studio RGB to Computer RGB' (from the presets) to correct for Vegas messing with your levels on import. Sometimes the reverse option works better, it depends on the source really.

Posts: 1988 		I didn't mean you could sort them on import, just that you could fix them. Vegas brings them in the way it brings them in, you can't really do much about that, but at least you can correct the problem after import.

Sorry, just read my first post, and I realise what you mean - I meant to say 'export' at the end, my bad.

I tend to use the Sony AVC/MVC option since it exports at a .mp4
In my experience, due to the smaller file size, .mp4s render and upload much faster than .avis
