Muvizu:Play (V1.0) Feedback Once a thread gets to 7 pages I think a single thread search might be handy so here's hoping this is original...

I wanted to remove a custom texture from my character.
I clicked on the custom texture icon and got the In-use screen. There was only 'None' in it and selecting None didn't have any effect.
Selecting another group and going back to In-use filled in the other in-use textures. None still had no effect.
If I then chose another texture and then None, it did work.
However having gone back in again there's no 'Recent' to recover the original texture from (and In-use still only had None).

Sounds like we are trying to add all the Prepare and Direct menus into the timeline. Sounds far too busy to me. It was unclear whether those buttons Prepared or Directed (or both). And there was no Clapper-board button.

So I guess the Action/Movement button will either Prepare a new character Movement section or Direct one or... (this wasn't clear to me).
Busy = too much on the dialog.
Where's the Direct button (or is there another view of the time line for directing).

I'd prefer a right-click context menu on scene items to adding stuff to the timeline (as per Dreeko). That way you only get the relevant actions for the object type you've selected and the timeline is not in the way if you want to select a different item.

If I want to do something to Helga I right-click on her and a menu pops up allowing me to select Prepare/<action> or Direct/<action> or Properties. Pretty standard fare on Windows. Besides even on your version if I want to now do something to Fred I still have to select him and then go back to the timeline. I think Right-click is quicker.
simonheffer wrote:

As we have a lot more items on the timeline would having a way to focus on the currently selected object be useful?(eg we've looked at lots of objects in the timeline now we want to go back to Helga). Maybe the Home button or just re-select the object in the scene.

e.g. Re-selecting Helga would bring the Helga part of the Timeline into view.

Better?

Voice Changer Or you can use Audacity - it's a bit more technical but it's free and there are tutorials on YouTube and a forum.

Well spotted Simon, the link is in there now.

Thanks - although the link should default to content packs (got a bit confused Twitchy )

Oh and I noticed writing this that the tab key didn't take me from Subject to message as I would have expected.

It's actually working for me here, but I'll do some more testing.

FYI, I'm using Firefox 19.2.

please help Quite often it's not the quoted dll that's the problem but something it depends on. For instance if you have a 64 bit dll bit don't have the 64 bit redistributables. You could run the Depends utility on the dll and see what its says (http://www.dependencywalker.com)

google hangout?? Kim said yes they will be uploading it - hopefully a higher quality than the stream I watched. No demo yet as it's all a bit hush-hush.

I believe the only payments involved are to remove the watermark and hence acquire full commercial rights to the video.

how do i make an object shake? Another way would be to rotate the phone back and forth (you'd need to put the speed to the max and smoothness down). If its not quick enough you could speed it up in post processing.

HD Skies! By that, I mean allowing a higher resolution for the sky dome picture. At the moment, the sky squashes, smears, and distorts the image like so :

Doesn't kill it, but it hardly enhances the scene, dontcha think?

Yes I agree too. This also extends to the ground. Could we adjust the number/size of the tiles? Some large high resolution textures probably only need a few tiles.

Import from .set file I know, whining again, but it is a bit of a pain trying to add an object from another .set file. Could we not have this as an option on the create objects dialog?

Hi Dylly,
A small point about the lid. It seems to have a strange shadow when view from above - the sides are sowing through or something.

Also there's some weird clipping going on. As you can see the camera sees the top of the jar in the foreground whereas the main view sees the while of the lid. I guess this is more a Muvizu thing than to do with the model.

Any thoughts?

You need to export the textures as well.

In Sketchup.. View > materials and the material window appears
Then hit the picture of the little house on that window and it lists the materials in the model (plus some standard ones). Find the ones you want and right mouse>export and save as JPGs.
Then import the .ase into Muvizu saying "don't use ID textures". You can then assign these JPG files to the relevant surfaces.

Let me know how you get on.

Aha! That seemed to do it.
Many thanks,
Simon

Smaller set of abstract shapes Well, I also found a pack of cigarettes which already had the right brand on it but when I imported I just had the pink colour all over. Any idea how to fix that?

Screenshot saving Could we get a save file dialog for this? I'm forever trolling through the forums to remind me where screenshots get saved. Sometimes I want the screen shot in my movie so having it in the same folder would be great.

Cheers,
Simon
