Animating Objects!!....?? @ Danimal, I think that A & D only changed MY POV not move the object for me anyway. So now I got past those hurdles adn now I'm done with everything (been crankin all day and night for I dunno how long now. Now the only question is,...Should I change the Pitch on the Blue Bros Music so it might upload to Muvizu? or should I leave it alone and use the original score?? - any ideas would be appreciated on this since my last vid didn't make it on this site. - Thanks !

Animating Objects!!....?? I figured it out now with the gates, here is what I did: I had to select Locked to objcets axis, does not affect directors position, 100% gravity, and as i move each gate hold down BOTH mouse buttons and drag to the left, rewind, and record same way going to the right!...worked perfectly after about 5 takes just to get the timing right. - Thanks all - EEF

Animating Objects!!....?? I had this issue before with the car and now I'm having it trying to use Dylly's Gates...Every time I try to animate objects....in the Prepare mode the objects move and rotate how they are supposed to with the controls, but as soon as I go to Direct mode then things go all over the place. I tried to rotate the gates in Prepare mode adn it was fine...i went to Direct and the gate flew around lie the top part was off it's hinges, so I put gravity at 100% and tried it and when I tried to just "slide" the gate open THEN it rotated!! but I was trying to just slide it behind the fence like it was sliding open (instead of rotating open) left to right without a rotation. I found that in Direct mode I cannot use the Keyboard to move objects for some reason....I have to use the mouse...is THAT the problem or is there going to be a fix in the future for this in Muvizu or ?
this is driving me up a wall...without these issues I would be done with the vid by no; I have been working on this vid for a while now. I had to resort to cut outs and backdrops to achieve the goals I wanted with car driving because of this issue with animating objects... Is anyone else having these problems or is it just me? - EEF

KISS Masks...Help?... Jamie wrote:
EEF - When you have the face mask (with default bush image on it) click the texture thumbnail in the bottom right hand corner and browse to the character - face mask category under the textures tab. This will let you select one of the kiss mask textures to use.

Wow! Jamie! That's incredible! it freakin worked FINALLY THANK YOU! I dunno what happened before but NOW it works man Thanks! - EEF Cool

KISS Masks...Help?... ziggy72 wrote:
You have to use the face mask option in the character editing bit. The default is still George Bush I think, but you can change it to whatever graphic you like.

Ziggy? That doesn't work for me, ecause I only ama seeing the KISS masks under "decals" tab, and if I add the George Bush Mask texture to the head there is no way to change that...that I know of? I've tried, but everytime I see the option for KISS masks it's under the tab "Decals" which only puts the texture on the front(chest), back,(of t-shirt) or whole body. So If someone can actually put those KISS masks textures around the head please let me know step by step because I have no idea how to do it. Thanks! - EEF

KISS Masks...Help?... Big KISS fan here wants to know how the heck do you wrap those KISS masks as a texture onto the head of the 3d models in Muvizu?? Everytime I have tried to do it it wraps around the entire body....is there a way to do this? - EEF

Well, technically, we can't use any copyrighted music or anything. However, with this situation, it's not in our control. The video is hosted on youtube and all we do is "display" that video here. At the end of the day its up to youtube what videos they allow to be used by external sites and for what reason. This situation is pretty common though, if youtube flags content as copyrighted (especially music) they will stop it being displayed on other sites.

Even those of Scottish persuasion got an extra day, plus the normal bank holiday...think get drunk from Friday til Monday with an extra sober up day! So team Muvizu have two extra days off over the weekend!

I decided to rebel and worked both days, so just a normal week for me All I can say is I was not the only one.
We do wish the Queen all the best though!

Despite Dylly and Ziggys optimism - i think the answer is a bit more mundane. You recent video uses the song staying alive by the bee gees, so youtube will prevent it being embedded on other sites. I checked our youtube system for this video and it comes back as "restricted" so it's never made it to Muvizu.

AAGH! DRIVING me Crazy... Hey Ziggy I think I got it now, I didn't know you had to use the KEYS on the keyboard to move objects!...also MY goofy keyboard doesn't have Page up/Page down...it just has the Arrws only, and for some reason before they weren't working at all..but now the are working so Thanks for info ! - EEF

ziggy72 wrote:
You can only use the keys to animate objects (and the mouse is for characters). To get it to move in a straight line you would use the Up arrow key (there is a list of the keys for movement in the Help)

As for the POV switch on record - in the Direct Object Movement options there is one called Director Start Location. If it's set to Locked to Object Axis then change it to Adjustable and that will stop the switching POV. If it's set to Adjustable already, then sorry I'm out of ideas

Hope that helps.

Update: Thought I had it, I even bought a new KB/Mouse Combo...and then...it happens again...not sure if it's a glitch in Muvizu or what but I Cannot Drive 55! or anything for that matter because the cars go all over the place except for where I need them to go...Frustrating...just wondering if I am alone in this crazy driving thing?

AAGH! DRIVING me Crazy... I watched the tutorials and tried to direct a scene of a polie car driving....no matter what I try it goes ll over the place!...I tried t drag the left mouse button to get the cop car to drive down the road but instead it is always rotating! why is this? I tried putting gravity to 100% because the car was rototaing everywhere but even then at 10 or 100%the car doesn't stay on the ground!....it is also changing my pov when i hit record...The scene I am trying to do would be simple....sky - pan down to the radgoing into the distance - pov from road is a car speeds off into the distance! tha's all I need but it's not working...what am I doing wrong or is it a glitch I have? I can't get the car to do anything but spin around. - EEF

Need a model or set made? Thanks Dylly,
1. I went smaller on the font because I didn't want to take away from the animation...but mostly,
2. I misjudged how small it'd actually be because I am using my 42" inch tv as my monitor, and I actually am sitting just a few feet back from it...so I didn't think "Oh it's gonna be alot smaller on someone else's monitor!" LOL...Sorry about that...I guess it just means you'll have to watch it over and over again until you get to read it all LOL...just kidding! - EEF

uote=Dylly]Hi EEF,

Enjoyed the clip! I agree with the guys though the font needs pumping up a bit. Now on the 3D front, I don’t think there is such a thing as a ‘legitimate’ 3d model when it comes to props in Muvizu. I liked the great use you made of the Muvizu basic objects, and to me that is 3D modelling. I don’t know if everyone will agree with me but I think ‘whatever you can knock together to make the scene’ is part of the enjoyable ethos behind Muvizu. I’m thinking of making a few tutorials on modelling basics that should get you going with knocking up your own props etc with SketchUp in no time.

When it comes to character texturing I’m a bit of a duffer with the Muvizu characters, nowhere near the high standard of Chuckles, Ziggy and Hugmyster, especially in the area of suits I use Ziggy and Huggy’s textures.

Need a model or set made? Hey Dylly, saw your post and looked in the textures section, I'm trying to find a texture map of the white suite/vest w/back wingtip open shirt /gold chain that Travolta wore in Saturday Night Fever....for the fat man. - EEF

P.S. - btw Did you see my latest upload just curious what you think? OH and are the weights I constructed in Muvizu considered legitiment 3d r not?...I used the geometric shapes in Muvizu to painstakingly create the weights.

Why is this happening now?... Thanks a bunch Guys! I use a 64 bit machine and so I have been using 64 bit Muvizu from the start, and the 64 bit update as well, and here is what I think I know what it is....I believe the whole thing with the windows getting pushed to the back is a WINDOWS 7 glitch and NOT anything else now. I was messing around wth it for a while now and that seems to be the case anyway. I am noticing more fatal errors now though on this one set I am working with (w/the weights and the crowd etc in it)...no other sets have crashed yet. I totally am having a blast with Muvizu, now if only I actually knew how to make a LEGIT 3d model it'd be great!...unfortunately my weights I made in Muvizu so now that I'm workin on the sequel to my latest one using those weights (on a BenchPress this time)...I'm brainstorming to figure out how I can make the old guy benchpress or at least LOOK like it. but the weights are not a legit prop in muvizu (I used Abstract Objects to create the weights). - any advice on that? I know I ask alot of questions sorry - EEF

Have a look at http://camstudio.org/ it will let you record your desktop and save an AVI file. You could try emailing that to bugs@muvizu.com or put it on youtube and send the link. Alternatively, have a go at the screen shot steps Marco suggested and either embed the image on the forum (using an image sharing service such as those found on twitter) or just email the image in.

Could you email this set file into us and we'll take a closer look.

To answer your question - No I did not uninstall Muvizu 19B when I downloaded the latest update v20(which by the way took me 4 or 5 times of trying to download it before it finally did it - I still don't know why it didn't work initially).

Favourites *should* still be there. Did you go to 64bit from 32bit? Or the other way around? If you did then you would have installed to a different directory (so Muvizu wouldn't know about the previous favourites).

Why is this happening now?... Thanks Jamie I will try to do that but not sure how to (send pic or screen vidshots) I'm actually new to windows 7 too - I had a Dell from Hell forever but a year ago I knew I wanted to use Muvizu so I $ta$hed away and had my new PC built (recently last March)specifically to run Muvizu and it does quite well usually - although now I've been getting fatal error crashes on one of my sets! (the one in my latest video - it only started doing it now - and it's only on that set so far) I think it's because of all the characters in the crowd or the weightset which I made in Muvizu itself, but I could be wrong...Anyway one thing ata a time right?...

Could you send us a screen of this happening? Actually a recording a video of your desktop showing the whole process and what happens would be best (maybe put it on youtube and leave it unlisted would be the easiest way to share the video?). I think I've experienced this problem a few random times but after restarting Muvizu it has gone back to normal. If you send a screen shot or bug that will let me confirm if it's the same problem or a new one.

No idea yet, my brief encounters with a similar issues suggests re-opening Muvizu but you've already tried that. Some more info would be the first step, could you send in your system info from the About dialog as well?

Why is this happening now?... I wasn't going to say anything before, but now I'm just aggravated...Problems follow the UPDATE!...
Ever since I downloaded the Update, now when I open Muvizu The Menus get buried underneath the main screen! EVERY TIME, ALL the Time! When I open Muvizu, Everything is is either under it or opens under it...The cameras window, when I click on Timeline or character properties etc etc...all the windows I cannot see unless I physically have to minimize the main window to get to them now! it sounds trivial but now it's a pain in the ass to try work in now! I've tried Pinning the windows countless times and nothing changes. Pinning it only brings it to the front at that moment but the minute you leave that screen it goes underneath! Before, the cameras window was right there, and whenever I needed Timeline or to open a window to change hair color or whatever properties etc...all the windows would open up in front of the main window like it should, it was there you could see it adn work in it...Not anymore!...What do I have to do to fix this? is it a bug in the update or? Please Help!

Also I had characters saved in my Favorites that were ready to be used before the update and now they are gone too after the update. I put alot of work into one character that I probably just will not recreate the same way again. Now I know that you have to save things on a SET if you want to keep them.

Anyone use AVS? quality lost from Muvizu to AVS... Hi TripFreak you were right, VideoPad is very Cool! I have used it, and will be using it on future filmz!

Not sure Yet how/where to download the extra plug ins etc (tons of files I saw there) but I will at some point, also VideoPad led me to a site or 2 for more plug ins...I will want to get more plug ins - EEFilmz

tripfreak wrote:
Hi EEFilmz,
if you still encounter problems with the AVS editor, try the VideoPad editor: Link
It's some kind of australian Windows Movie Maker: its only free for a while, but afterwards you only loose some unnecessary export formats (flv, swf.. - but not avi !) and keep all the nice functions.

It's capable of HD (and freely reloads all missing codecs), it has a video stabilizer, a subtitle function, a 2D to 3D converter, image sequence export, an overlay for text, image or video and beside the preloaded effects you can import all Virtualdub plugins, e.g. here: Link and another Link
I made a short modification test with the new Muvizu teaser: here

I'm definitely no expert when it comes to codecs or video editors for that matter but I've been using AVS video editor for awhile now and I haven't had any problems. The final file sizes I get from AVS have been pretty good too.

Most all of the animations I've created up to now have been created with AVS.

It's not the most "robust" video editor available but it has enough "bells and whistles" to allow me to create pretty much what I want thus far. I also have Sony Vegas Pro installed on my system and once I learn how to use it better I plan on using it for video editing but for now AVS is getting the job done.

Mysto, did you register AVS? I just used AVS to edit my next Toon which is basically done, I just need to rerender it if I decide to register AVS...Not sure though, because I read people have issues w/AVS being a legit purchase? Like it's ripping them off and/or failing after they register it. Please let me know if anyone has had issues with registering AVS. I also downloaded videopad, sony vegas, avs, avs seems easy...I'm using the free version so I have the watermark. I'm trying ti figure out which editor has the easiest audio editing features....Sony was kickin out huge file sizes for me and I am not yet savvy with creating variations in volume throughout different tracks....
