(new) video joiner not working? Sorry for the late reply, I was watching for a new post so I missed the edit that you made.

WMM can do the same things, but I would just like to check - did you download the basic, standard or full codec pack? XVid only comes with the Full pack so if you downloaded the standard or basic pack it wouldn't show up in Muvizu.

If you downloaded the Full pack and it still isn't showing in Muvizu we will need to look into it further.

Failed (unable to convert video file) Hi jamspencer, sorry you are having trouble.

There is a known bug where this site says that your video upload has failed but it has actually uploaded correctly - can you remember what the Muvizu site said when you had finished uploading it?

Am I right in saying that you uploaded the video to our site but it when you go to your YT account it says "Unable to Convert Video File"?

If that is the case could you tell me what Screen resolution and Codec you used when you made the video please?

Unable to Make Video : "The file is locked ..." Just one quick idea - have you tried creating the video in alternative locations? For instance, if it doesn't work in "My Videos" have you tried the Desktop or a folder on the C:\ drive?

no characters or objects appear It was worth a try - the last thing I can suggest is creating the Folder yourself and manually installing the cache files to that location.

I have uploaded the cache files to Rapid Share at http://rapidshare.com/files/411786865/Cache.zip so if you download then open the zip file you can then have access to the cache files.

If you move them to the Program Data\Muvizu folder that you have created it should, hopefully, work.

I would recommend scanning the .zip file with a virus scanner before you open it - just in case.

Whether this works or not I will be passing this on to the Devs to see if they can figure out the cause.

Unable to Make Video : "The file is locked ..." Unfortunately the .dmp file is the really useful part - but it doesn't get generated all of the time.

There is nothing that "jumps out" from the log file, so the only thing that I can suggest is uninstalling any existing codec packs that you have and installing the K-Lite Full codec pack.

This should give you the most compatibility with Muvizu, but I can't say how it would affect other software and, of course, any 3rd party software is used at your own risk.

I will be talking to the Devs about this tomorrow morning as well, so you might want to wait until after I have done so.

Unable to Make Video : "The file is locked ..." Hi,

Normally at least one codec works, so this might require a bit more investigation; could you please tell me if there is a log and .dmp file present in your Muvizu directory?

The directory that logs are in is located at C:\Program Files\Muvizu\MuvizuGame\Logs

If one has been generated it might shed some more light on the situation.

no characters or objects appear Hello again,

Hopefully that will work, if not there is one last thing that I can try - but it will take me a little while to set up - so I will start now, just in case.

Unable to Make Video : "The file is locked ..." Hi again DB,

Are you trying the Panasonic Codec by any chance? If so could you give XVid a try please?

Take care,

Unable to Make Video : "The file is locked ..." Hi , and sorry you are having trouble,

Does the error come up as soon as you click on "Make Video" on the menu bar or after you have selected a Resolution and Codec?

Take care,
Jim.

HELP Hi Satnav,

The Tutorials section is pretty comprehensive - it doesn't detail some of the more recent additions to the programme but they are still a really good starting point. http://www.muvizu.com/Projects/Presentation/Present.aspx?userid=1462

If you have any other problems or questions please let us know.
Take care,
-Jim

Total Newbie Hi rhin033,

If you haven't started using Muvizu yet the Tutorials section is pretty comprehensive - it doesn't detail some of the more recent additions to the programme but they are still a really good starting point. http://www.muvizu.com/Projects/Presentation/Present.aspx?userid=1462

If you have already set up all of your animation, audio etc. and just want to make the file you go to Video then Make Video and then select the resolution and recording format.

Take care, and if you have any problems or questions let us know.

I am on windows vista home
Unfortunately I do not have the folder C:\Program Data\Muvizu

Any advise?

That's odd - are there any other folders inside Program Data? If so could you try running Muvizu as an administrator? (Right-click and then Run as Administrator)

Take care,
-Jim.

(new) video joiner not working? I am happy to help - reporting any errors or problems help us out too.

Sometimes the video joiner has an error with larger video files (in size, as well as length) so what size are the videos and what length are they?

If they are short videos you may get more luck recording them in the XVid format before you try to join them. If you do not have it available the K-Lite Codec pack includes it (and is also free): http://www.free-codecs.com/k_lite_codec_pack_download.htm but of course any third party software is used at your own risk .

Take care,
-Jim

How to take the muvizu logo off your videos? Hi Clemenswonderworks,

Kilted Ninja is correct - the logo cannot be removed.

Also, the terms and conditions that are included with the install of Muvizu only cover the application for non-Commercial uses:

"Commercial use:

You may not use this software, or any materials whether video or still images, produced with it for any commercial purposes, including posting videos or images on sites other than Muvizu to earn money through advertising or by any other means, such as using imagery created by or associated with Muvizu 3D for merchandising purposes, without the prior written consent of DA Group, which may be obtained only after contractual negotiations with DA Group on a case-by-case basis"

If you wish to use Muvizu for Commercial purposes please e-mail: contact@muvizu.com

Take care,

Windows 7 and a 64 bit machine Hi there,

Sorry you are having trouble launching Muvizu - could you please try updating to the latest version of Direct X at:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3

Updating has fixed launch problems for a few users.

Take care,
-Jim.

no characters or objects appear Hi again,

What I would like you to do is please delete the cache of files that Muvizu has downloaded and then run Muvizu again - hopefully that should fix it for you.

The files are called "AnimationData.dat, ApplicationData.dat and CharacterData.dat"

Unfortunately they are located in hidden folders, which you need to edit some Windows options to see:

In Windows 7 and Vista
Go to Start > Computer
Go to the Menu Bar and click on Organise and then Folder and Search Options
Click on the View Tab
Click on the Circle beside Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives
Click Apply

In Windows XP (I had to grab this from Microsoft's website as I do not have an XP computer at home to check)

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Appearance and Themes, and then click Folder Options.
Click on the View Tab
Click on the Circle beside Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives
Click Apply

The Folder that you need to access is, again, in different places depending on the Operating System:

In Windows 7 and VIsta:
C:\Program Data\Muvizu

In Windows XP: (I am not 100% sure of the location as I do not have an XP machine - I will be able to post it's exact location tomorrow)
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Roaming\Muvizu
It could also be
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Local\Muvizu

So, if you could delete the listed files from those locations and try running Muvizu again it should hopefully get it working for you - if not I please let me know.

Take care,
-Jim.
