If you've been haunting the Fields of Hatred in Season 12, you've probably felt how painfully slow the seed grind can be. You do a lap, smack a few mobs, dodge a gank squad, and somehow you're still broke. If you're trying to gear up, swap builds, or just keep your setup feeling sharp, it helps to go in prepared—stuff like potions, elixirs, and the right Diablo 4 Items can make the difference between snowballing a streak and getting reset back to zero. The good news is you don't need to "farm harder." You just need to show up for the right event and play it like you mean it.
Why Shrine of Carnage is the play The Shrine of Carnage event is the closest thing to a seed printer right now. It rolls around about every 30 minutes, and when it's up, everything else in the zone feels like wasted time. The first minute or two looks normal: waves, a bit of space to breathe, nothing special. Don't get baited into wandering off. The whole point is momentum. Stick to the event area, keep your kill chain alive, and you'll notice the seed drops start to feel less stingy.
How to run the phases without losing tempo Once the towers spawn, that's your cue to stop freelancing. Burn them down. Fast. A lot of players tunnel mobs because it's satisfying, but the towers are what push the event into the money phase. When you crack those, the pace ramps up into a boss rush—elite after elite, packed tight, dropping seeds like they've got a quota. This is where decent builds look great and great builds look unfair. If you've got cooldowns, stagger, or any kind of screen-clear, save it for this stretch and don't be shy about popping defensives to keep the streak going.
Extraction pressure and the Butcher swing Then comes the part where your hands get a little sweaty: extraction. The second you're carrying a huge stack, you're basically advertising. Move straight to an Altar of Extraction and assume someone's watching. During purification, keep scanning for the Effigy of the Butcher. It's not a guaranteed win button, but if you top the damage you can turn into the Butcher yourself, and it flips the script. Suddenly you're not stalling—you're hunting, buying yourself breathing room while the timer crawls.
Spending seeds and keeping the loop going After you cleanse your haul, the PvP vendors finally feel worth the drama. The Bloody Steed is a legit flex, and the darker horse armor actually matches the vibe of the zone. Also, grab Cursed Scrolls when you can; Scroll of Recklessness is great for ripping across the map, even if it nibbles your health. If you want to keep pace with the meta without living in the Fields all night, some players top up their builds or grab key upgrades through U4GM and then focus their playtime on these boss-heavy events where the seed gains are actually worth the risk.
