Finally, done all the costumes. Didn't realise it would take months... But then again, I did remove the floating brows from everyone and replaced them with ones you can animate instead. That took a while. I will post my versions of the default UV maps next week, so you too can experience the thrill of having characters with fingernails and belly buttons

Anyway, will finally start shooting stuff this week - relieved!

Amazing Ziggy. Can't wait to see it all in action.
I am interested in the moving eyebrows if one day you are bored and want
To discuss how that is done. B-)

The Importance of Eyebrows:

Multiple character textures with different eyebrow shapes animated (switched) over time.

This technique works but is not ideal if you had clothing textures to contend with too. It would be better if we had an eyebrow plane asset which we could animate separately. I suggested this years ago in the absence of a proper facial animation system but nowt has happened yet.

I know Dreeko, it's not ideal, but it's definitely an improvement over the floaty, shadow-casting, static blocks we have now. And your video was one of the reasons I started experimenting with this method...

Hamster, it works by having the different eyebrow positions as layers in the source UV's PSD file - you export a complete character costume for each position you want to use, then use the Character Properties to animate the skin, allowing you to switch between them on the fly. I tested it for the first time on my Death Star Canteen vid (the guy serving) and it seemed okay, so from now on all my characters will use them. Once I post the PSDs, you can all do the same if you like

recreating the original enterprise isnt to bad as its quite sparsely furnished Big Grin kirks quarters is pretty much done. a few more sets to make. the transporter room, the mess hall, a few corridors and maybe a turbo lift. then i can start animating.

What are you up to Fazz, are you redoing some old episodes or are you creating some new ones?
